History shows that any rural estate of the size and complexity of Fasque & Glendye will have been one of the principal employers in the local area and of course all these staff had to be housed. This is still the case today and staff numbers, although dramatically reduced, remain high compared to many similar properties but there is still a considerable legacy of houses, which are no longer required for the Estate workforce and these are now available for rent. The total housing stock numbers over 100, with around 50 available for rent on Short Assured Tenancies for between 6 months and a number of years.

The range of housing types is fascinating, from tiny one bedroomed cottages to mansions incorporating mediaeval castles. Many date from the nineteenth century and there has been a continuous programme of investment and improvement over recent years to ensure that all the properties are brought up to modern standards. This is a long and resource intensive process but where possible renovation works are carried out by the highly experienced Estate maintenance team, using traditional materials and methods, which are designed, to last well into the next century.

The aim is to create a housing stock maintained to the very highest standards which will produce a sustainable rental income for the Estate and make a significant contribution towards the housing needs of the local community.

Please contact the Estate Office if you are interested in renting a house on Fasque & Glendye.
